Covid-19  @ 4.11.2021

Aligned Leisure Summary:

To our valued stadium users,

After celebrating the reopening of our centres to the community last weekend, we’ve had lots of great questions coming through about our vaccination requirements and the recently updated Community Sports directions.

With information being circulated from a variety of sources at the moment, our team have put together the following information to explain how Community Sports activities will be hosted at our facilities under the current directions and to answer your most commonly asked questions.

Will vaccination exemptions be applied to community sports activities?
Currently, no. We are aware that under the Open Premises Directions (No.3), there are provisions for facilities used solely for community sport to apply an exemption to the vaccination requirements for participants – However, this exemption only applies to venues that can safely separate community sports activities from all other general public areas of the venue (including communal areas such as entranceways, reception areas, change rooms and restrooms) which has only been confirmed to us today.

Due to the multi-purpose nature of our facilities, we cannot safely meet these requirements and therefore are unable to apply this exemption at this time.

Further information regarding this is available at: https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/how-we-work-current-restrictions#physical-recreation-and-community-sport

Capacity Limits
• For our indoor venues, our limit is based on a density quotient of 1 in 4sqm.
• This means we can host a total of 750 people in our court 1-4 area and also 750 people in our court 5-8 area..
• This limit includes all participants, coaches, support staff/volunteers and spectators.

Spectators, coaches and support staff/volunteers
• There is no set limit per team for how many people will be permitted into the venue, provided it is within the above capacity limit.
• Spectators can gather in groups of no more than 30 people.
• Reasonable steps should be taken to maintain social distancing at all times where possible.

Vaccination Requirements
• All persons aged 16 years or older, including participants, spectators and support staff/volunteers, must be fully vaccinated or exempt to enter the venue. This also includes all of our facility staff.
• Please remember to have your vaccination certificate or exemption ready for checking when you first arrive.

Stay Safe Settings
• Contact tracing is still required, with QR codes remaining the preferred method.
• Face masks must continue to be worn indoors only (and only removed if exercising) by persons aged 12 years or older.

As always, we will continue to work with relevant industry experts to ensure our community sports activities can continue to operate in the safest possible manner, and that we provide a fun environment for all to enjoy!

If you have any questions regarding our operations or suggestions on how we can support you better, please reach out via reply email or contact me on (03) 5945 2888.
